This is a comprehensive 12-module home study course covering a wide range of subjects from garden design and soil health to lawn care and the scientific principles of horticulture. Whether you are a keen amateur gardener or wish to take your first steps in a professional horticultural career, the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Level 2 Certificate is the qualification of choice.

At the end of the course you will be awarded a Learning Curve Certificate of Course Completion. You will also be ready to sit the RHS Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Horticulture, which you can do at an authorised examination centre in your area. (There is an additional fee for the examination.) Your tutor will provide personal support and advice to help you complete your assignments and prepare effectively for the exams.
* The first exam sitting for the new level 2 - Principles of Horticulture - will be in 2011. Current students have the option to sit either the current level 2 Certificate in Horticulture or the new certificate.

Students have up to three years to complete this course, allowing them to work through the modules at their own pace. On average, however, it takes students around 12 - 18 months to complete the course, based on 3 - 5 hours study time per week.

You can also print sections off if you wish. You do not need to be connected to the internet to work through your study materials. Each module includes exercises to complete and a tutor-marked assignment.
When you have completed your assignment you email it to your tutor. He or she will send your next module immediately. Your tutor will also mark your assignment and return it with feedback within 7 days.
You do not receive course textbooks when studying one of our online courses, but instead are provided with supplementary online materials to support your learning.
