This is a short course providing a gentle introduction to horticulture for the beginner. If you are considering a career in this area or would simply like to know more but do not yet feel ready for the RHS Level 2 course, this is an ideal starting point. This 6 module course covers a number of key subjects, including garden design and plant propagation, and leads to the award of a Learning Curve Level 1 Certificate in Horticulture. Students have up to 12 months to complete this course, allowing them to work through the modules at their own pace. On average, however, it takes students around 6 - 8 months to complete the course, based on 2 - 3 hours study time per week.
Study topics covered include: introduction to horticulture; plant propagation - seeds and cuttings; soils and soil cultivation; pests and diseases; and lawn care. Includes course book, RHS New Gardening, all course material and full tutorial support.
